I am an academic with a background in policy research and political communications. My research and teaching focuses on foreign policy decision making, European foreign policy, and the international politics of the Middle East and the Israeli-Palestinian arena. I am a Visiting Fellow in the Middle East Centre at the London School of Economics and a Lecturer in the Department for Political Studies at Bar Ilan University. I publish and lecture widely for scholarly, professional and general audiences and I am the author of Blair, Labour & Palestine: Conflicting Views on Middle East Peace After 9/11 (Bloomsbury Academic, 2013).

In this video for LSE's Middle East Centre I discuss Israel’s military objectives in this war, the country’s security and regional concerns after 7 October, and questions around Israel’s domestic political crisis. I also talk about the need to set clear political goals in relation to the future of the Gaza Strip. (Recorded 2 Nov 2023.)
